Collisions Between a Car and a Tree

Conventional wisdom holds that spending time near trees is beneficial to our health, while spending time in and near cars is dangerous. As much as you may fear animal attacks and lightning strikes, the chances of getting serious injuries when you walk in the park or in the forest are much lower than the chances of getting hit by a car if you walk in an urban area. The deer that you see while hiking in New Jersey may appear to move quickly, but they cannot keep pace even with the cars that drive on residential streets, and deer usually run away from hikers instead of toward them. When there are both cars and trees in proximity to each other, though, it can be bad news for the cars and for the trees. Trees planted by the side of the road can help drivers with long-range spatial orientation, but when the roads are curved, some trees can catch drivers by surprise. Of course, dangerous behaviors like speeding and drunk driving can cause drivers to lose control of their cars, and if the tree is nearby, it can mean a high-speed collision with a stationary object much stronger than the car. If you got injured in a car accident where a car collided with a tree, contact a South Jersey auto accident lawyer.
