Four Commercial Trucks Collide on New Jersey Turnpike
Freight trucks are so big that accidents involving one of them are rarely mere fender benders. When a truck crashes on the highway, the collision often involves more than two vehicles. Before sunrise one morning in June 2026, a truck stalled in the center lane on the New Jersey Turnpike in Carteret Borough. Behind it, two trucks stopped side by side, one in the center lane and another in the right lane. A fourth truck failed to brake in time to avoid hitting the trucks. It struck the two trucks in the rear, causing one of them to rear end the truck in front of it. Three of the four trucks caught fire; the biggest blaze came from the truck which was carrying logs, which are exceedingly flammable. The driver of the truck that struck the other three died of injuries sustained in the collision.

Commuters in Deptford one morning faced delays throughout rush hour one morning in June 2026, even the ones that set out as soon as the sun rose, because of a single-vehicle collision that happened before 4:00 a.m. The driver of a Ford SUV lost control of his vehicle on Route 42 in Deptford, and it jumped a guardrail and crashed into a sign. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The NBC 10 Philadelphia news website identified the driver as a 41-year-old man from Pine Hill. He was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The collision is still under investigation, so no other details are available about what caused the driver to lose control of the SUV.
