Three People Injured in Egg Harbor Township Collision

Say what you will about New Jersey being a lackluster place to visit, but it gets plenty of road trip traffic. Whether you are on your way to the storied city lights of the Big Apple, the ski slopes of Vermont, or a sun-soaked bachelorette party in Myrtle Beach, if you live on the East Coast, you will probably drive through New Jersey. Once you factor in New Jersey’s own destinations that can hold their own in terms of tourist appeal, such as Atlantic City and the Jersey Shore, this means that a considerable percentage of the drivers on the road are not from New Jersey. If they get pulled over for drunk driving, they might be in for a treat, because unlike in their home states, DUI does not result in criminal charges if you do not cause an accident. If you get into an accident, whether or not alcohol was involved, any lawsuits arising from the accident, such as personal injury claims, are under the jurisdiction of the courts of New Jersey. If you got injured in a car accident while you were visiting New Jersey or just passing through on a road trip to another state, contact a South Jersey auto accident lawyer.
Tennessee Man’s Car Stalled in Oncoming Traffic
Enrique Velasquez lives in Tennessee, but he was driving his Honda in the eastbound lanes of the Atlantic City Expressway in Egg Harbor Township when the car malfunctioned. He lost control of the car, and it spun; by the time it stopped, it was facing west and would not start again. An approaching car could not swerve out of the way in time and collided head on with Vasquez’s vehicle. Vasquez suffered severe injuries, as was Vladimir Valery of Camden County, the driver of the car that struck Velasquez’s Honda. Rahsher Jone-Sanon was also injured and transported to a hospital for treatment, but her injuries were less serious, so she did not require admission to the hospital.
How Can the Injured People Get Compensation for Their Injuries?
Even though none of the people involved in the Atlantic City Expressway suffered life-threatening injuries, their injuries were severe enough to cause financial devastation. Drivers insured in New Jersey have the right to file insurance claims with their Personal Injury Protection (PIP) insurance carriers. PIP insurance will pay for your accident-related medical bills, regardless of who was at fault for the accident. Things are more complicated for out-of-state drivers, who may come from states that do not offer PIP coverage. If out-of-state drivers get serious injuries in an accident in New Jersey, they should contact a New Jersey personal injury lawyer to discuss their options.
