Atlantic City Casino Slip & Fall Lawyer

Gambling in New Jersey was legalized in New Jersey in 1976 by a vote of the people, and the first casino opened in 1978. That casino is still in operation today, although it has some competition these days. Nine major casino resorts are currently thriving in Atlantic City, offering thrills and excitement any time of day and any day of the week.

Pennsylvania casinos became legal in 2004 when legislation was passed by the Pennsylvania state legislature. The law originally allowed 14 slot parlors across the state with many of the casinos being located at racetracks, which were struggling financially. In 2010, gambling was expanded beyond slot machines to include table games like poker and blackjack.

Another thing casinos offer is the chance of a serious injury from a slip and fall, trip and fall, foodborne illness, or violent assault. Many aspects of the ways casinos are built make their patrons susceptible to getting hurt on the premises, requiring casino staff and management to step up and do their jobs to ensure a safe environment free of unreasonable hazards. When they don’t, you could get seriously hurt and be left wondering who is going to pay for your medical bills and lost wages or make up for your pain and suffering. Call me, Joseph Monaco, and I will answer those questions for you. I will also take on your case against the billion-dollar casino giants and hold them accountable to you for the harm they’ve caused, including taking them to court if necessary to resolve your case. I am an Atlantic City casino slip & fall lawyer with decades of experience helping accident victims recover significant compensation after a slip and fall or other premises liability accident. Call me for a free consultation to find out how I can help you after an injury in a New Jersey or Pennsylvania casino.

Casino Slip & Fall Injuries

Casino owners have a legal duty to keep guests safe from unreasonably dangerous conditions on the premises. One of the most common dangers patrons face is the risk of a slip and fall on a wet or slippery floor. Servers and guests alike can be seen walking around the casino floor and other areas of the resort carrying drinks, and spills can happen anywhere. Casino floors are often carpeted, but lobbies, dance floors and other areas often are not. Marble floors can be slippery in the best of times; if a clear liquid has been spilled or the floor has been recently mopped or buffed, the floor can be particularly treacherous. Entrances to swimming pool areas, restaurants, bathrooms, and many other areas in the casino can be susceptible to slips and falls. Management and staff must be vigilant to patrol these areas, identify spills or other dangers, quickly clean them up and use appropriate signage to warn patrons of the danger. Anything less is negligence that casino owners can and should be held liable for.

Other slipping and tripping hazards you might find at a New Jersey or Pennsylvania casino include torn carpets or lumps in the carpet, unmarked steps into the pit or steps that are unlit, and steps with handrails that are either loose or absent. Misaligned elevators or malfunctioning escalators create trip and fall hazards of their own as well. While a slip and fall from a spilled drink might sometimes happen before casino staff has had a chance to become aware of the spill and clean it up, there is no excuse for dangers due to lack of maintenance and reasonable inspection of the premises. Call Monaco Law PC if you have been injured in any kind of slip and fall or trip and fall in a New Jersey or Pennsylvania casino. My law firm will take the time to find out what happened and how it happened. If the casino is responsible for your injury, I will put my decades of premises liability and personal injury experience to work for you and help you get financial compensation for your medical expenses, lost work, pain and suffering, and other legal damages.

Casinos are Required to Provide Adequate Security

Casinos can be crowded, chaotic places with nightclubs and gaming rooms fueled by alcohol. Fights can break out, property can be damaged, and criminals and opportunists can take advantage of the situation to commit robberies and assaults, including thefts and sexual assaults in hotel rooms, corridors and parking garages. Whether you are staying in the resort as a paid guest or visiting the casino for a night of gaming, you have a right to enjoy yourself in a reasonably safe and well-protected environment. Casino owners have a duty to provide adequate security in the form of security cameras, alarm systems, locked rooms, secured floor or elevator access, security personnel, and other means. If necessary, systems are not working or not in place, or if security personnel are negligent, not properly trained or supervised, or use excessive force, you can hold the casino accountable for injuries that result. I can help you do just that. I’ve been representing personal injury victims in Pennsylvania and New Jersey for decades, and I’ll put all my years of experience toward holding negligent casino owners accountable for the harm they’ve caused.
